I have always placed immense value on my CPA license. Although I do not practice
in public accounting, it has been demonstrated that my position in private
industry has been enhanced and respected even more because I am a CPA.
Keeping an active CPA license can be a challenge. The continuing education
requirement of 80 hours every two years seems a burden at times. It takes money
and time to attend educational programming, and quite frankly, I am not one who
loves sitting alone at my computer taking courses and being tested. It is great
for some, just not for me. In today's strained economy, my core competencies -
integrity, objectivity and independence - bring enormous value to my employer. I
won’t let my license go to “registered-only” status and I hope you won’t either.
If you would like to bring your CPA license back from “registered only”
status, visit the Michigan State Board of Accountancy
Continuing Education page for more information on Reentry. The Application
for Reentry may be downloaded from this
Forms page. To fulfill your CPE requirements, you can take advantage of the
MACPA member discount for CPE programs. Find current

Remain a “licensed” CPA…there’s nothing like it!
